Waikato Regional Council
The Waikato Regional Council is a regional council that manages land, water, soil, air, coastal and geothermal resources in the central North Island of New Zealand.
Their work includes:
• environmental regulation, education, consultation and co-ordination
• managing water quality, river control and coastal activities
• controlling possums and other pests
• preparing for civil defence emergencies
• co-ordinating land transport in the Waikato area
