Well, after lots of additional testing Open Text had now released Content Server 10 (CS10) - flagship product in the ECM Suite. Very exciting!
CS10 has been built on existing LiveLink functionality to provide the core platform for Open Text's Enterprise Content Management Suite (ECM). More information is available at www.opentext.com.
So whats this blog about? Well Like many if you, we are currently Hummingbird eDocs users and with eDocs now being as the end of its life we have decided to upgrade to CS10 and for once be the first OT site in New Zealand to upgrade!
The team here are very excited to be upgrading and we thought that many of you, particularly those on eDocs 6 will be interested in the approach we take and what we learn along the way. And yes - that includes what we fall over and discover on the way.
We have been looking at this for a while and so some of the initial thinking has already started, with us looking at what we need, what we want and the initial planning to get there.
Over the next few weeks we are going to be installing the software, configuring the system including the records management bit - yes Paula is having a ball with this.
So we thought we would keep you up to date on here, so you can see how we go and tell you about the challenges we have faced, especially from the business perspective and the fun we have had in dealing with it.
