This really is an incredibly exciting time for the team here, not only are we implementing CS10, but there is a fair amount of other change and improvements going on around us that we need to be aware of and be ready to enable through the CS10 platform.
One of the first things we have discussed internally, and debated at length, is where we are at now, our pain points, our desires to move forward and how we can get the most out of this experience to help ourselves but also our customers and partners.
So, while we go through this exercise using ourselves as the guinea pig, we are also testing our own DM6 migration strategy and approach, and like any other successful project we started with the most important questions:
Who?
Why?
What?
When?
How?
Many of you are probably looking at your options but always start with your basic questions; implementing CS10 is no different in many ways to any other project; the more you can spend the time to look at and properly define your requirements; the more successful the project will be.
I havce often said that if you get 2 records managers in a room you will get 2 different answers to any RM question and the same can be said for EDRMS specialists; but the beauty of talking to your users and stakeholders is the variety in perspectives that we all have, for me RM is a key requirement, for some of my colleagues we want to move forward with the social workplace.
The fact is that for many of you, you have already been through an EDRMS implementation, as an implementer or as a user so your knowledge base and that of your users is already higher than it was when you first embarked on your EDRMS journey; take that knowledge and use it in this process; it is a very very powerful tool.
Now on to the fun stuff, lets build it!
